Heather Brown Longview TX Obituary,Death-Heather Brown passed away after 14 years in coma

Heather Brown of Gladewater, Texas, has died after spending 14 years in a coma following a devastating medical emergency during her pregnancy. Her family announced that she passed away on September 18, 2026, bringing an end to a remarkable and difficult journey that began in 2012.

Brown’s story first gained attention in September 2012, when she suffered a brain aneurysm at 34 weeks pregnant. Doctors performed an emergency cesarean section to save her baby, John, while Brown remained in a coma. Her husband, Sean Brown, was serving in Afghanistan when he learned of the medical emergency and returned to East Texas.

Over the years, the Brown family continued sharing updates about Heather’s condition with supporters through the “Bringing Home the Browns” community. In 2014, KLTV reported that Heather had spoken John’s name after nearly a year without speaking and had begun making some movements on command. She later returned home in July 2013 as her family continued caring for her and supporting her recovery.

Sean announced Heather’s death on September 30, asking supporters who had followed the family’s journey to remember her and expressing gratitude to those who had supported and prayed for the family throughout the years.

Heather’s story touched people far beyond her immediate family. Her long medical journey was followed by supporters who watched as her husband and family remained committed to her care.

A memorial service for Heather Brown is scheduled for 2 p.m. October 10 at Greggton Missionary Baptist Church in Longview, Texas.

Her passing marks the end of a 14-year journey that began with a sudden medical crisis and was defined by family, perseverance, and the support of a community that continued to follow her story.
